BioNAME: Anderson ("Ander" or "And") Lovegood

HOUSE: Hufflepuff
APPEARANCE: A writer's build and face, Ander is blond and tends to expressively wriggle his eyebrows.
HISTORY: It wasn't until Anderson was nine years old that he and his Muggle father discovered that Ander's mum was a witch. And the discovery was no easy task, let me tell you! Oh sure, they both had their suspicions that something was different about her, like the way she could push into the kitchen, whip up a snack and return before the two-way door stopped swinging. Or how she had that favourite stick that she liked to carry around in her purse with her whenever they'd go into town. And sure there were countless other quirks about her that didn't quite make sense but that didn't really mean she was a witch, did it?
Inquiring minds wanted to know...
And so with that And and his dad did a little detective work, or that's what they called it anyway. Most people would've called it 'setting fire to your house moments before you expected your wife home to prove a completely bonkers theory.' But they were determined! The rest is history... Upon her arrival, And's mum did just as they knew she would -- she sprang into action and quickly outed the flames with one flick of her stick -- no wand, it's got to be a wand! Then, with a second and final swish, she repaired the damage done.
She would've told them at that point, really. She would've been so happy to see them alive. She would've been honest about it all... She really would've, had And's dad not come running out of the backyard with a camera in his hand, shouting "I KNEW IT!" after the chaos. As you can probably assume, the marriage has been "on the rocks" ever since.
PERSONALITY: And is inquiring and very open-minded to all kinds of speculation. He's always researching the next rumor or scandal. School Administration cover-ups seem to be a primary focus of his, as do unexplained sightings of Magical Creatures. In addition to this, Ander is a little more cunning than your average Hufflepuff. Truly investigative reporting does require that of a man. Though And's not much of a journal-keeper his prime ambition is to one day become a journalist. When he noticed that many of the other students had been keeping these magical journals he decided to use the network as a launch pad for "the greatest, most investigative newsletter ever published..." The Quibbler!
